Twilight. Hmm, what can I say about sweet twilight? Not to sound cheesy but my girlfriend and I were really excited to see this movie. We waited about a year for this first part of the ending of the series. I’m not a typical groupie like the rest of the world when it comes to Twilight but it is very interesting to see how big Twilight has grown since the novels. I never read any of the novels but I sure watched all of the movies so far. However, I come to realisation that this Twilight was the worst of them all. There wasn’t enough action to keep the men interested and for the acting, I can say was sometimes horrible or pretty mediocre. The build up of this movie was super slow. Everyone in the theatre was shouting out BORING! Which I think they were pretty right to be shouting that out. Was it not enough that the acting from the characters was really bad and unrealistic but for the plot to be slow and boring was not the best combination? I don’t know what the director was thinking this time around. And in the beginning of the movie when they are getting married, did they really use the scene set up as their actual real wedding? Because that’s what everybody was saying. Anyways, I hope part 2 of this movie is much better since it’s the conclusion of the series. Too bad we all must wait until next year for the film. BOO! Overall, I give this movie a 4/10.

Jack and Jill
So, I was a little bit excited for the new Adam Sandler film despite the terrible ratings. I’m a big fan of Adam Sandler so I assumed his movies would never fail. Jack and Jill is basically about two twins that don’t see each other often because jack can’t stand Jill. But when Jill comes over for the holidays jack is in for some trouble. The movie is funny because both characters jack and Jill are played by Adam Sandler and he looks hilarious dressed up as a woman. Especially with the makeup and artificial boobs. Jack is very mean to Jill in the movie. He doesn’t hide the fact that he can’t stand her which I think is very sad. But when jack needs Jill to gain something, he throws her under the bus and betrays her. It’s very sad to think that your twin would do something horrible to you like that because twins are supposed to be like best friends. Good thing he realized what he did was wrong and made it up. Sometimes when you wait too long, you can never make it up and they won’t forgive you. But of course, with family movies comes happy endings, always. It was funny to see that Adam Sandler still uses his entourage to play different characters in his movies. They always do that in each other’s movies. Al Pacino played his part well too. Surprisingly, I never had seen him do a comedy like this one. Overall I give this movie a 5/10. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t over-the-top hilarious.
Stay tuned next week when I will be watching and reviewing TWILIGHT: BREAKING DAWN! Super excited!

Immortals
So this film was another 3-D action flick that takes place way back in the days. It was about a war between people and the gods that takes place in ancient Greece. I came into this movie not expecting much due to the disappointing yet similar film “300”. I thought Immortals was long and boring just like 300, although the graphics and action scenes did look pretty cool but it doesn’t make up for the long tedious story line. There was a fair amount of action in this film but the scenes that had no action were just far too long. It was almost as if I didn’t care for the characters at all rather that I wanted to see more action. However the graphics really were truly phenomenal, film technology shows no limits. I am not really into these types of films but if you are into mythological action films this may be the perfect film for you. The movie is about a magical bow that is needed to take over the world. Everyone is in search of this bow and will do just about anything to get their hands on it. I thought this film was decent for what it was, which is a 3-D action film but the scenes in the film were just too boring, at certain moments I almost fell asleep. 4/10 is what I give this film not a terrible film but it’s just not for me.
Next week I will be watching and reviewing the new comedy flick Jack and Jill, with Adam Sandler should be a good one.

A Very Harold & Kumar 3-D Christmas
Now that Halloween is over and the holiday season is just around the corner, A Very Harold & Kumar 3-D Christmas seems to be very appropriate for this time of the season. So this is the third installment of the Harold and Kumar trilogy. For those that are unfamiliar, this is a comedy film about two stoners that just cannot stay out of trouble. Their adventures always lead them to hilarious plots and turn of events. So what really makes this film different than the rest? All I can say is “3-D!” I must admit I was skeptical at first, I mean how can this film be better with 3-D effects. I am not a big fan of 3-D goggles but this film really was creative with the special effects. The smoke looked so real like it was coming at you. The script and story line of this movie was just outrageously funny. Of course Neil Patrick Harris makes another hilarious appearance in this film and hints about a fourth installment to this movie. I must say this was the best Harold & Kumar film by far hands down. This film was a hoot from start to finish without a moment of breathing room in between laughs. 9/10 great comedy, maybe the best comedy of the year!
So the next film to be reviewed is Immortals, an action film with stellar graphics and effects.

Paranormal Activity 3
The Paranormal Activity franchise all started from a low budget horror film that took a whole new approach in recording and filming a scary movie. Most of the movie is shown as a video recording and they somehow keep the audience captivated. So the third instalment of Paranormal Activity was nowhere near as bad as the second one. I would say this movie really made up for the terrible second attempt. Paranormal Activity 3 is actually a prequel of a prequel if that makes any sense. Basically this film shows what happened to the two sisters when they were growing up and how this all started. The movie takes place in 1988 and you can actually tell with the old school video recording technology. This film was very clever despite the barrier of bad recording instruments. I don’t want to spoil anything so all I will say is there is a rotating camera. Just think of all the fun they can have with a rotating camera! This film did a very decent job on getting the jump on you. Almost every scene kept me on my toes, always ready for something to just pop out of nowhere. There were also some funny scenes that kind of made the audience feel at ease for the little time it lasted. It’s always good to add some humour into a film even if it is a horror flick. I actually thought this film was going to be a disaster due to the second one so it really surprised me after watching it. It was just as good as the first one I’d say if not better! 6.5/10 not bad at all.
Can’t wait till next week when I will be watching and reviewing a personal favourite, A Very Harold & Kumar 3-D Christmas!
