Drive

Before watching this movie I thought it was going to be a masterpiece due to the high ratings from critics. Sadly, I can honestly say the first ten minutes of the film was the best part. The main character is played by Ryan Gosling, he is the guy from the famous chick flick, The Notebook for those I didn’t know. I thought he was a good actor but the role he played was very weird and eerie. I think the trailer for this film really fools and misleads people on how the film will be. The trailer shows this film as an action movie in which he plays as a driver that performs heist for money. It seemed very exciting but I was sadly disappointed to find out the film is nothing like that. Not to mention the music sounded like some opera music straight from the 80’s. The plot was very slow and the main character didn’t have his first lines until twenty minutes into the film. I have no idea why this movie is rated so high; this is a film you can live without.  I was watching this film thinking it is going to get better any second now, but it really didn’t. People in the theatres were actually leaving half way through, how embarrassing. I wish I followed them because this movie was awful. This is two hours of my life that I am never getting back not to mention the twelve dollars that I will never see again. I give this film a 3/10 and I am being generous just because the first 10 minutes was very interesting.
Next week I will be talking about the film Moneyball , hopefully it is not disappointing like the previous film. Stay tuned!

Warrior

Whether you are into action, drama, or romance films, there is no way you are going to want to miss this one. I had my doubts of this movie at first; I figured it was just another action packed martial arts movie that I will forget about by next month until I was 15 minutes into the movie. Even though I was tired that night this film kept me awake and listening to every single word. This film was gripping and a true delight for MMA fans everywhere. To me what makes a film good is how it speaks to you and affects you, this film actually made me want to start going to the gym and improve my health. This tale of two brothers and their broken family will keep you glued to your seats as they both compete for the number one spot but their will only be one winner. This film did an excellent job in the character development aspect, the emotions felt so real and you really feel for the characters. This film really shocked and surprised me. I had no idea this film would be that good, I can honestly say this movie will be a contender for film of the year! If you plan to see just one movie this year this is it. This is a movie that everyone can enjoy and I highly recommend it be seen by every individual. I give this film a 9.5/10 bravo!
Next week I will be talking about the next film I will be seeing which is Drive. Stay tuned guys!
