Drive

Before watching this movie I thought it was going to be a masterpiece due to the high ratings from critics. Sadly, I can honestly say the first ten minutes of the film was the best part. The main character is played by Ryan Gosling, he is the guy from the famous chick flick, The Notebook for those I didn’t know. I thought he was a good actor but the role he played was very weird and eerie. I think the trailer for this film really fools and misleads people on how the film will be. The trailer shows this film as an action movie in which he plays as a driver that performs heist for money. It seemed very exciting but I was sadly disappointed to find out the film is nothing like that. Not to mention the music sounded like some opera music straight from the 80’s. The plot was very slow and the main character didn’t have his first lines until twenty minutes into the film. I have no idea why this movie is rated so high; this is a film you can live without.  I was watching this film thinking it is going to get better any second now, but it really didn’t. People in the theatres were actually leaving half way through, how embarrassing. I wish I followed them because this movie was awful. This is two hours of my life that I am never getting back not to mention the twelve dollars that I will never see again. I give this film a 3/10 and I am being generous just because the first 10 minutes was very interesting.
Next week I will be talking about the film Moneyball , hopefully it is not disappointing like the previous film. Stay tuned!
